Veil contains two short tales illustrated in ink, "The Wakefield Werewolf" and "The Sutherland Siren." This zine was an experiment in ironic horror and simultaneous storytelling, with a nod to Angela Carter. While the narration seems to tell one story, when juxtaposed with the visuals, a second story emerges. Veil plays with the idea of subverting the "traditional," adopting an art style influenced by Victorian ink illustration, and then abandons that style for raw, feverish brush strokes as the plot begins to challenge the role of women in horror (even with narrators that seem to deny women agency in their own stories). Each tale offers two perspectives of the same situation: one on the surface, and one that peeks behind the veil.
